The preservation of cultural heritage needs a restoration design format that can only be achievable by an in-depth multidisciplinary approach. Besides, sustainable project requires the link between architecture and technology expressed through “conscious” approach to building. Therefore, each must based on knowledge history, construction rules, mechanical properties buildings restored. bell towers are among most exposed degradation earthquake damage constructions for their intrinsic geometry structure. “Carmine Maggiore” tower is one important symbols Naples (Italy) and, at 72 m high, it has stood out centuries against city. underwent many significant damages structural changes over time. design, here illustrated, was aimed restoring repairing this tower, preserving existing materials, without altering signs paper shows methodology followed in project, which, starting from historical analysis detailed geometric diagnostic survey, several analyses, allowed “inclusive” (restoration, structural, lighting project) suitable solutions meet all requirements compatibility, sustainability, safety.
